Needless to say as an avid Jalopnik / Oppo reader, I love cars. I do camera work for a living and am pushing more into the automotive area of my industry. On Friday, I found out the guys that to The Fast Lane Cars / Trucks are right in my neighborhood, so I contacted them and said "Hey, let's collaborate and film some cool stuff." Yesterday we took their Raptor out and tried to kill as many snow flakes as possible. I was shooting all the slow mo content. Running around the mountains, finding angles, planning shots and having a gorgeous vehicle blairing it's V8 as it slips and slides a few feet off my right shoulder made this one of the top three most fun days of production for me ever. The TFLTruck guys are awesome to work with. The commute up to the mountains was none stop car talk. (Something that rarely happens as a resident of Boulder.)

Thanks for staying the trail! Which trail was that? I'm in Boulder for school and was wondering if it was close by, I like to find easy trails for relaxing drives.

Roman driving, his son and a new guy they brought in full time for camera / editing. (I think the part of the brain that remembers names got damaged during a street hockey injury when I was a kid) Nathan wasn't there for this vid, but he was driving a Frontier Pro 4X today. We did a super scientific shootout of building 3 foot walls of snow and seeing which truck could make them explode better. Just a fun little quicky shoot that'll be up tomorrow.

You're totally right, these guys are awesome. When starting to work with a new crew, it's such a crap shoot as to whether the personalities will get along, and these guys are just great to work with. We're all car folk and make videos, so there's a lot of common ground.

Sorry about the jump in continuity. We had another operator shooting stills in burst mode and I think the camera was buffering and caused the jump.

Me too. Seems like it's going to work out well for both of us. I'm pushing my career towards car commercials, so this is a perfect playground for me to build up my experience and footage reel while they get another camera out on shoots. Beyond that, it's just fun times filming cars.

Appearantly they'll be getting ahold of something British with snow tires, a German twin turbo W12, and has the word Speed somewhere in the model name next month.....There's talk of hitting up a frozen lake in the area for the shoot.

Frozen lakes sound like so much fun. Here in Atlanta we have chilly puddles but that's it. I'm going to Beaver Creek for spring break and I'm going to try and have some fun with the rental car in the snow/ice.

The Tacoma isn't too crazy. Sliders, skids, wheels and tires for now.

Front plate bumper on the way. Lift install on Friday.
